Photo Snapshots: Koh Chang

Koh Chang, or “elephant island” is a little slice of paradise on the eastern side of Thailand.

I think it’s also the perfect place to soak up some sun if you’re travelling overland from Cambodia to Thailand or vice versa. Plus, there are even elephants here!

There are many resorts on Koh Chang–most of them along the western side of the island. Bang Bao, a small fishing village at the southern tip of the island, was home for about five days. There are only a handful of beaches in this area, but head back up north and you’ll find longer stretches of beaches like Lonely Beach or White Sand Beach.

The taxi trucks can take you to other parts of the island, and travelling on the island roads is an experience in itself. The roads on Koh Chang are steep, narrow, and not for the faint at heart as these taxi trucks whip around the curves like it’s not dangerous at all.

Since Koh Chang is close to Bangkok, it’s a wonderful place to relax a little. Partake in some sea kayaking, lounging on ever-so-warm beaches or indulging in the fresh seafood.

Without further ado, here are my favourite snapshots of Koh Chang:
